What happened

On 30 Oct, @benbybit said Bybit was unaffected and operating normally, with user funds safe, and offered support to Binance and the broader crypto community after the Binance hack. @star_okx said the recent incidents involving Bybit, Bitget and Binance should be a wake-up call and that security should never be a commercial competition. A separate post from @Mayorwhistle10 had claimed Bybit was 'fully hacked as well'.

Why it matters

Bybit's previous $1.5B hack is the benchmark against which every exchange hack is now measured, and its public all-clear here is the clearest signal from a major venue that the Binance incident is not a sector-wide exploit; the next 24-48h will show whether that hold or whether withdrawals start moving.

Observed reaction

Sympathetic/supportive: @benbybit and @star_okx frame exchanges as a united front; @Mayorwhistle10's 'Bybit fully hacked' panic was countered by Bybit's own all-clear.

Risks

  • Do not present @Mayorwhistle10's 'Bybit fully hacked' claim as fact; @benbybit says Bybit is unaffected.
  • No financial advice or price predictions around the hack or exchange tokens.
  • Flag potentially paid/RT-shilled promo posts that use the hack for unrelated projects (e.g. the scam-list post) as low-signal.
