What happened

$LAUNCH rugged after the dev posted that he was done with the token and deleted the account, per @cryptogorilla's October 28 memecoin recap. @libraxbt said the $LAUNCH rug came less than 48 hours after a tweet of his, and then shilled $zcat. @richardnhsu used the $LAUNCH chart on October 29 as the example of how a fast LP-and-supply dump looks, while warning that $FLOAT looks like a rug.

Why it matters

This is the concrete counter-case to every "new launchpad, fairer rules" pitch this cycle: a Solana launchpad that marketed a StonkFun pair and a fee-funded buyback-and-burn still ended with the dev walking away and deleting the account. For a crypto-native feed it is usable as a durable checklist story — holder distribution, LP control, who receives creator fees — rather than a one-day price meme.

Observed reaction

Bearish and mocking. @cryptogorilla reported the rug flatly in a recap; @libraxbt used it as a punchline for a $zcat shill; @pavelthedev treated the Kimchi-drama marketing as good shilling "ngl"; @richardnhsu used the $LAUNCH chart as a warning template. Only the launch-day posts from @isebelanick, @pasarsegar_bpn and @brita_lisa framed it constructively, and those are pre-rug.

$LAUNCH rugged after the dev posted that he was done with the token and deleted the account, per @cryptogorilla's October 28 memecoin recap.

02

@libraxbt said the $LAUNCH rug came less than 48 hours after a tweet of his, and then shilled $zcat.

[1]
03

@richardnhsu used the $LAUNCH chart on October 29 as the example of how a fast LP-and-supply dump looks, while warning that $FLOAT looks like a rug.

[1]
04

On October 30 @richardnhsu listed $LAUNCH alongside $FLOAT as new launchpads/projects that are rugs and advised checking holder distribution and liquidity before buying.

[1]
05

@weirdamoto asked on October 25 whether the team keeps all fees for itself with no $LAUNCH buybacks.

[1]
06

@isebelanick said $LAUNCH blocks repeat use of the same tweet and trades with Stonk's $STONK on Solana.

[1]
07

@isebelanick later asked whether someone would launch their next coin through Launch too, calling the $STONK pair on Solana interesting and framing a return usage as the real test.

[1]
08

@brita_lisa described Launch using each coin's attributed creator-fee proceeds to buy that coin and burn the tokens, with fee forwarding depending on StonkFun and the split estimated from volume rather than an unconditional onchain guarantee.

[1]
09

@pasarsegar_bpn said $LAUNCH on Solana picked a loud opponent, quoted an "End Pump's reign" announcement, and noted Launch uses StonkFun's trading infrastructure while proposing different launch rules.

[1]
10

@pavelthedev said turning the Kimchi drama into a $LAUNCH shill was pretty good marketing.

[1]
11

@kureenbtc posted $LABDOG and $LABRADOR pairs with $LAUNCH at MC 2M.

12

@richardnhsu's quoted post from defade_ states that for $FLOAT, 29 bundles across 119 wallets bought 25.6% around launch, bundlers now hold 21.71%, snipers hold 8.27%, and 48 fresh wallets hold 24.6% with 35 bundle-linked.

Angles

  • Post-rug teardown: show the $LAUNCH chart next to the launch-day claims from @isebelanick and @brita_lisa about the StonkFun pair and creator-fee buyback-and-burn, and ask which parts were verifiable onchain.
  • Coin-check list: turn @richardnhsu's October 30 advice — check holder distribution and liquidity before buying, devs can dump a bundle in seconds — into a saveable checklist using $LAUNCH and the $FLOAT bundle stats as the two examples.
  • Launchpad-accountability angle: track the specific promise "end Pump's reign" from @pasarsegar_bpn's October 26 post against what happened to the first cohort of $LAUNCH coins.
  • Fee-destination poll: @weirdamoto asked whether the team keeps all fees with no buybacks — run that question against the burned-token claim once onchain data is available.

Formats in use

  • daily recap bullet list
  • bearish "what happened to $LAUNCH" chart screenshot
  • quote-tweet warning with a second token as the example
  • launch-day thread explaining fee-funded buyback-and-burn
  • self-deprecating losing-money post

Risks

  • The rug is reported by @cryptogorilla and repeated by @libraxbt and @richardnhsu — treat it as unverified unless the dev's deletion or the onchain dump is independently confirmed.
  • Do not repeat any contract address in this story as something to buy; $LAUNCH CAs posted by @isebelanick and @kureenbtc are tied to the rug token and to a $LABDOG/$LABRADOR pair that carries the same name.
  • Several launch-day posts read like coordinated promotion around the same StonkFun pairing — do not reuse their framing as editorial voice.
  • No price predictions on $FLOAT from @richardnhsu's quote of defade_'s bundle stats (29 bundles across 119 wallets, 25.6% bought, 21.71% held, 48 fresh wallets at 24.6%): that is one account's claim, not chain data we ran.
  • $MIKA, $PIZZA and the other names in the same @cryptogorilla recap are unrelated to this story; do not bundle them in.

one tweet, five coins, everyone arguing which one is real Launch says it blocks repeat use of the same tweet. $LAUNCH trades with Stonk’s $STONK on Solana. One less mess to untangle while SOL positions and $SOL alerts demand attention lol CA: AhBidGAgv6QbKSWfrSCegGrzFLcBx4E5FNY

Be careful if you guys buy $FLOAT. Looks like a rug to me. They can dump the supply and empty the LP in seconds which will look like $LAUNCH chart.
