What happened

ICE, trade[XYZ] and Hyperliquid announced a plan to use Hyperliquid as the infrastructure layer to deploy perpetual futures markets for US traders across crypto, equities, commodities, FX and other real-world assets, subject to regulatory approvals. In the structure, Hyperliquid serves as the underlying technology infrastructure via HIP-3, trade[XYZ] designs and implements the markets, and ICE operates the regulated market and clearing structure.

Why it matters

The ICE/trade[XYZ] tie-up and Kraken's Payward filing put Hyperliquid's HIP-3 infrastructure at the centre of a push to bring regulated US perpetual futures onchain, with a major exchange operator and a top-10 exchange parent as counterparties. That shifts the Hyperliquid narrative from perp DEX competition and points campaigns to institutional rails and regulatory approval, a much bigger surface for the project and for $HYPE, which rose 15.4% over the week to a rank-11 market cap.

Observed reaction

Strongly bullish and institutional-leaning on 2026-10-29: tracked accounts reposted the ICE/trade[XYZ] and Kraken/Payward items in a coordinated wave, with @chameleon_jeff and trade[XYZ] framing it as onchain markets reaching US mainstream and @gumsays adding Druckenmiller credibility. Skepticism is not visible in the sampled posts; the main caveat repeated is that everything is subject to regulatory approval.

03

trade[XYZ] said its markets on Hyperliquid have surpassed $650 billion in volume in just over a year and that, subject to CFTC approval, trade[XYZ] and ICE plan to bring 24/7 perpetual futures on Hyperliquid to the United States.

04

Payward, the parent company of Kraken, announced its intention to be the first CFTC-regulated deployer on HIP-3 markets, using Hyperliquid as the infrastructure layer for US perpetual futures clients, with Bitnomial (its CFTC-regulated DCM and DCO) as the HIP-3 deployer and NinjaTrader Clearing (its CFTC-registered FCM) carrying client accounts, subject to regulatory approval.

@chameleon_jeff wrote a first-person post framing the ICE, trade[XYZ] and Hyperliquid announcement as the next chapter for American markets, recounting NYSE history and ICE's origins as an electricity-trading platform in 2000.

Account @gumsays posted that Stanley Druckenmiller's first tweet ever is about Hyperliquid, citing his record of never having a losing year in 30 years and averaging roughly 30% annual returns.

Angles

In the playbook for Thu, Nov 5

    Formats in use

    • quote-post screenshots of the trade[XYZ] announcement
    • long-form first-person narrative post (chameleon_jeff)
    • bullet-list breakdown of the ICE/trade[XYZ]/Hyperliquid structure
    • repost chain of the HyperliquidX announcement

    Risks

    • Regulatory approval is pending: posts say 'subject to CFTC approval' and 'subject to regulatory approvals' — do not frame the US launch as final or approved.
    • The $650B trade[XYZ] volume figure is a claim by @tradexyz, not independently verified by market data here.
    • The Druckenmiller 'first tweet ever about Hyperliquid' post is a cultural claim from @gumsays, not confirmed Hyperliquid news; treat as commentary, not fact.
    • Avoid any price prediction on $HYPE despite the 15.4% weekly gain and rank-11 market cap.
