What happened

This week's strongest Nasdaq thread is a corporate fight over tokenized stocks: @coinbureau posted that Nasdaq, a rival of ICE-owned NYSE, is reportedly urging issuers listed on its exchange to oppose the plan, and that 38 companies have now objected, 22 of them Nasdaq-listed — including IBM, Intel, AMD, Alphabet, Microsoft, Broadcom, Oracle, Walmart, Moderna and CoreWeave (post 2116107403250868503). Coinbureau had earlier flagged that the NYSE's parent and OKX originally proposed over 60 US stocks as tokens (2114325114430910670). Separately, other tracked accounts tied Nasdaq to new crypto listings: the Canary Staked INJ ETF ($INJC) is launching on Nasdaq with up to 90% of INJ staked and BitGo as custodian, with the Injective Foundation committing $15M at $25/share (2115616835424973055, 2116405727447171572); Canton's CNTN tokenized shares are set to carry the same rights as its Nasdaq stock with TSV trading expected as early as Nov 2 (2116540443928539138, 2115847867172860246); and Anthropic announced Nasdaq plans under $ANT while Hyperliquid's trade[XYZ] runs a pre-IPO contract xyz:ANT (2114721892099596497, 2114928314112700694). Macro posts also used Nasdaq as a benchmark — Kobeissi's thread said the Nasdaq 100 is up +11% YTD and nearly +70% since April 2025 (2116251345296736554), while a Kyle Reidhead repost noted Nasdaq futures down 2%+ in a broad selloff (2116448822003949906).

Why it matters

Tokenized equities have been one of crypto's biggest narrative bets this year, and now the exchange that lists most of the tech names being tokenized is reportedly organizing opposition — 38 objectors, 22 of them on its own board. At the same time, Nasdaq is the listing venue for crypto-native products arriving this quarter (Canary's staked INJ ETF, Anthropic's $ANT, Canton's CNTN parity shares), which makes it both the venue and a stakeholder in the tokenization debate. For CT, this is a specific, quotable conflict rather than generic 'adoption' talk.

Observed reaction

Split and somewhat contested: the tokenization-opposition framing is cautious/skeptical (objections described as 'CRACKS in TOKENIZATION'), while posts about Nasdaq-listed crypto products (INJ ETF, Canton CNTN parity shares, NEAR on Nasdaq-listed Gemini) are bullish and promotional. Broad macro posts using the Nasdaq as a backdrop (100 down 2% futures, Kobeissi's 'zoom out' thread) are defensive but not bearish on crypto specifically.

Angles

  • Data-driven breakdown of the 38 objectors and 22 Nasdaq-listed companies opposing the ICE/NYSE tokenized stocks plan (IBM, Intel, AMD, Alphabet, Microsoft etc.) — with a caveat about the unverified 'reportedly urging' sourcing.
  • Explainer thread: what Nasdaq's opposition means for tokenized equities and how it connects to the broader record tokenization wave flagged by @coinbureau.
  • Comparison content on rival tokenization paths: NYSE/OKX's 60+ tokenized stocks proposal vs. Canton's tokenized CNTN shares with Nasdaq parity rights vs. the Canary INJ Staked ETF launching on Nasdaq.

Risks

  • The claim that Nasdaq is 'reportedly urging' its listed issuers to oppose the plan is sourced only to coinbureau's post and must be labeled unverified/reported.
  • The list of 38 objectors and the designation of which are Nasdaq-listed is from a single account; do not repeat the names as confirmed fact without verifying.
  • Do not frame any of this as investment advice or imply INJ/Nasdaq-tied products will go up; the $25 seed price in @zuesthekreator's post is the foundation's claim, not market data.
  • The Anthropic Nasdaq listing (ticker $ANT) and the ~Nov 20 date are from a Polymarket repost and a Hyperliquid builder's post; treat as announcements, not confirmed dates.
  • Avoid harassment of Nasdaq, ICE, or listed companies; the objections are a corporate/regulatory dispute.
  • Kobeissi/Nyse volume and market numbers are third-party claims reposted by tracked accounts; attribute them.
