What happened

Crypto's Halloween week lined up behind two time-boxed, explicitly Halloween-branded product drops. JupiterExchange told followers it is "handing out candy for next 3 days," with the mechanic being a $250 Trick or Treat Pack pull that is not eligible for any other pack pull, and a quote-tweet of the pull replay required; solanagaming amplified it, saying the "Trick-or-Treat packs are officially HERE" and going live with Jupiter to open them, in a post boosted by @agaltsow (Oct 31). Separately, Peylay ran #PeylayVault, a giveaway running Oct 27–31 in which one mystery NFT "escapes EVERY day" — 5 days, 5 winners, 5 NFTs, including @GodHatesNFTees pieces — promoted by @Peylay and reposted by @tenmetax (Oct 26), @crispyduck (Oct 27) and @zygopsyche (Oct 28). Smaller Halloween drops filled out the week: Minotaur_Man's 'All Hallows' Eve' 72-hour open edition at 0.01 ETH (RT'd by @scooter_mcgee, Oct 29) and @Ponderman_'s 'Solanaween Party' 150-edition piece at 0.05 SOL on @mallowdotart (RT'd by @degenghosty, Oct 31). Notably, the biggest single push came from exchange/chain accounts that were not tracked in this dataset: OpenSea's offer to reply to commentors with a custom video and picture "to kick off the weekend" (RT'd by @crispyduck, Oct 30), Base's "Base is open on Halloween / Base is open every day" (RT'd by @moneypaiger, @madebyshun and @tamilcrypt0, all Oct 31), bonk_inu's pumpkin joke (RT'd by @cryptos6_bk10x) and injective's "Ninjas are ready for Halloween" (RT'd by @zuesthekreator, Oct 29). Maniac Mansion was the week's cultural outlier: @mazrael_shib reposted @lucasartsfans' "You should play Maniac Mansion on Halloween."

Why it matters

The Halloween hook was used as a distribution mechanic rather than a theme: Jupiter gated a $250 pack behind a quote-tweet of the pull replay, Peylay gated NFT distribution behind follow/like/repost/tag, and OpenSea and Minotaur_Man ran comment- and link-driven drops on the same weekend. That is a repeatable playbook for CT teams — bolt a holiday frame onto a paid or gated product so the launch generates its own UGC — and the volume of reposts from small tracked accounts is the measurable output.

Angles

  • The holiday drop economics: 72hrs at 0.01 ETH, 150 editions at 0.05 SOL, and a $250 Jupiter pack — all announced within four days on the same theme.
  • Brand-account Halloween week: OpenSea, Base, bonk_inu and injective all shipped Halloween posts while tracked accounts mainly reposted them — worth tracking who is actually creating vs. amplifying.
  • PFP-as-content: OpenSea's custom video/picture reply offer turns its own comments into a content feed — a tactic other NFT accounts can copy.
  • Watch whether the Jupiter and Peylay mechanics convert: both require public posts (a replay quote-tweet, a repost plus tag), so the week's engagement numbers are partly manufactured.

In the playbook for Tue, Nov 3 · goes stale fast

Formats in use

  • quote-tweet the pull replay to enter (Jupiter, $250 packs)
  • follow + like + repost + tag friends over a multi-day giveaway (Peylay #PeylayVault, Oct 27–31)
  • comment with your PFP and get a custom video/photo reply (OpenSea)
  • limited open-edition minted at fixed price over a fixed window (Minotaur_Man 72hrs/0.01 ETH; Ponderman_ 150 ed/0.05 SOL)

Risks

  • Likely coordinated shilling / paid promotion: the identical "Base is open on Halloween" post is reposted verbatim by @moneypaiger, @madebyshun and @tamilcrypt0 on Oct 31, and the identical @Peylay #PeylayVault text by @crispyduck, @zygopsyche and @tenmetax — treat as campaign amplification, not independent sentiment.
  • Entry into Jupiter's $250 Trick or Treat Pack has a cost and yields an unknown outcome ("Some of you will get a treat. Some of you will get tricked"); no financial advice or outcome prediction implied.
  • Some holiday posts are pure engagement bait or off-topic RTs (French Halloween makeup, a Japanese shiba cosplay, a Vegas-housing-market anecdote from a Halloween party) and were excluded.
